Obituary

Marsha A. Dieker, 80, of Upper Arlington, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, December 15, 2021. She was born on April 12, 1941, in Fort Scott, Kansas, and was married for 44 years to her loving husband, Lawrence L. Dieker, who preceded her in death in 2005. As a child, Marsha enjoyed performing in dance and baton competitions. She attended the University of Kansas, where she met Larry. They moved to Columbus, Ohio, in 1972, when Larry took a job with Borden. After raising her five children, she completed her degree in education at The Ohio State University. She taught elementary school for 21 years at St. Thomas the Apostle School and at St. Leo Catholic School. As a teacher, she often organized the school's musical productions, and was known for her patience, enthusiasm, and love. She made a difference in the lives of her students, some of whom looked her up years later to express their appreciation. She is survived by her five children: Larry (Jeannie) Dieker, Jr., John (Debbie) Dieker, Jane (Jim) Pidcock, Becky (Mark) Repucci, Mark (Satomi) Dieker; thirteen grandchildren: Gus, Marquella, Olivia, Dustin, Hannah, Rachel, Ryan (Nicole), Steven, Amy (Matt), Jason, Nathan, Lia, and Sachi; brother, Garen (Waneta) Cox, of Independence, Kansas; many nieces and nephews. She was an active member of Our Lady of Victory Church, where she was a lector, a eucharistic minister, and all-around volunteer. She enjoyed reading, family get-togethers, crossword puzzles, and going out with her friends. She never missed a birthday or anniversary and enjoyed taking her family out to dinner on special occasions. She had a beautiful smile and will be missed by all who knew her. Friends may call Sunday, December 19, 2021, at John Quint Treboni Funeral Home, 1177 W. 5th Avenue, from 2-4 p.m. A funeral mass will be held 11 a.m. on Monday, December 20, 2021, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 1559 Roxbury Road, Columbus, Ohio. Where family and friends are asked to meet. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, 6440 South High Lockbourne, Ohio 43137. In lieu of flowers, friends may contribute in Marsha's memory to Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church.

Marsha was my best friend growing up in Mound City, KS. I so much enjoyed visiting with her. She always called on my birthday and we talked at the end of October, 2021. She was always so upbeat and told me about how successful her knee surgery was. I will miss her so much. She was so proud of all of her family.
