Obituary

Norma Jean Mnich, 90, of Westerville, Ohio, returned peacefully to the Lord on November 1st, 2021. Born Norma Jean Marchi in Columbus, Ohio on July 5th, 1931, she was the youngest of four children born to Angelo and Luisa Marchi (Bisutti), residing at 905 East 5th Avenue. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Rina and Olga, and brother Aldo. Norma graduated the College of Saint Mary of the Springs (now Ohio Dominican University) in 1953 where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics. In 1954 she married William Mnich and is survived by their children Louise (Randy) Fleming, William (Louise), Ann (Paul Ogle), Matt (Dorinda), and Mark (Marcy); grandchildren Ross, Luke, Matt, Aaron, Joni, Chelsea, Christina, Dana, Will, and Tara; 13 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and special caregivers Stacy, Christina, and Rose. Norma is now reunited with her beloved husband who died in 1981, and their daughter Mary Rose who succumbed to natural causes in 1966 when nine months old. Upon the untimely passing of her husband, Norma assumed day to day control of the company they created in 1958, North American Broadcasting Company, Inc. (WMNI AM/FM, WRKZ, WJKR). Through her decades long leadership, the company realized exceptional growth. Her strength and tenderness made an indelible mark on every member of the NABCo family. She was Chairman until 2012. Remaining active in her Golden Years, Norma was well-traveled, enjoyed hosting company and family parties and card games with her Bridge club. But her greatest joys were her family and many "grandloves" whom she treasured and showered with gifts at every opportunity. Her love and generosity were boundless. Friends may call at the JOHN QUINT TREBONI FUNERAL HOME, 1177 West 5th Avenue, Columbus, Ohio from 2:00-5:00pm on Sunday November 7th, and are then invited to attend a Byzantine rite Catholic service at 5 pm. A private interment will be held by the family at St. Joseph Cemetery on Monday November 8th. To sign the on-line condolences please visit www.JohnQuint.com

So very sorry to read of the loss of your mother. We played tennis together weekly back in the late 70’s until your Dad passed in and she assumed control of the company. We just ȁCclickedȁD and had so many laughs and good times. We talked a lot about DeSales, and her kids & mine. She was a smart, kind and fun lady. May she Rest In Peace. Condolences to all her loved ones.

Correction: It wasn’t CBJ games with Norma, it was OSU basketball games where we shared time with Norma. She was always dressed smartly in her scarlet & gray! ❤%uFE0F

Love and prayers being sent to all you! We will always remember Norma’s sweet smile and welcoming hugs! She always asked about our family members who were not present during family occasions. I loved talking with her about Italian family traditions, what she enjoyed doing at her job, but mostly her grandchildren whom she dearly loved and gave her much joy. Norma always made us feel so welcome in her home. It seems like yesterday when Randy and Louise married and our ornery 2 year old son, the ringer bearer, sat calmly by Norma’s side during the ceremony. She was a calm and present force in the lives of so many. I know she is at peace now in Heaven with her beloved husband and all of those who have gone before her.
