Obituary

Elisabeth S. Scully, age 82, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer surrounded by loved ones who will honor her legacy by living each day to its fullest. Preceded in death by her parents, and sister Lili. Loving mother to Walter (Lori) and Danielle. Adored Oma to Spencer, Evan, Ryan, and grand kitten Lance. Also survived by William her husband of 56 years, brother Sigmund, brother-in-law Joe (Marianne) and sister-in-law Clem. Elisabeth was a 41-year resident of Hudson, OH and most recently lived in Clintonville, OH to spend more time with her best friend, daughter Danielle. Born in Florianopolis, Brazil, Elisabeth came to the United States after college in 1961 to improve her English. She secured her first job working as an executive assistant with CBS Records at Rockefeller Center in NYC. She met her husband William in 1961 and the two married on December 26, 1964. She had a successful career managing a local Credit Union and later worked for SGS Tool in their International Sales division. This position allowed her the opportunity to leverage her skill of speaking 5 languages to develop/maintain customers across Europe and South America. Upon retirement, she enjoyed volunteering with friends at Blossom Music Center for the Cleveland Orchestra concerts, Akron Zips football games, and even track meets. Elisabeth was an avid bridge player, stayed active with water aerobics, yoga, and walked local hiking trails. Elisabeth was also an expert gardener and learned to refinish all kinds of furniture for her family to enjoy. A true foodie to the core, she loved to try new restaurants and cook new foods at home. She and her daughter travelled the world together and were fortunate to attend 3 Grand Slam tennis tournaments. More recently she enjoyed travelling out West with her children to Santa Fe, New Mexico and Palm Springs, CA. Elisabeth was always ready for a new adventure and truly had a positive attitude towards life. The family would like to thank the amazing doctors and nurses at the OSU James Cancer Center, her caregivers at Ohio Living Westminster Thurber, Hospice of Central Ohio, along with many friends around the world who provided her comfort and support. A Memorial/Celebration of Life will be held on November 13th, 2021, at 12 pm at the JOHN QUINT TREBONI FUNERAL HOME, 1177 W. 5th Avenue. In lieu of flowers, friends who wish may contribute in memory of "Elisabeth Scully" to the Cat Welfare Association. Condolences may be sent via www.johnquint.com.

Elisabeth was, quite simply, a Grand Lady! As next door neighbors and long time friends, we enjoyed her caring nature, keen intellect, understated sense of humor...and many other great characteristics. She was "all in" each and every day of her life. Our condolences and love to Bill, Walter and Danielle.

I'm so very sorry for your loss. I loved to hear Elisabeth tell any story as I always ended up laughing. I will remember her teaching me to make a flower arrangement in a pot many years ago as I was new to gardening. She was beautiful inside and out!

Danielle,

Words cannot express the joy your Mom brought to our lives. She was funny, charming and witty. We truly enjoyed her company and she always made us laugh out loud. She embodied "joie de vivre" or joy of life. She will truly be missed. I wish you and your family peace, love & serenity during this difficult time. Love Nickinha and Jaminha
