[Celebration Of Life]

Hugh Rowland Miller, passed away on January 31, 2021, at the age of 89 years old. Born April 22, 1931, in Columbus, he attended St. Aloysius Military School and Academy followed by St. Charles Preparatory High School. He graduated from Ohio State University with a bachelor's degree in Chemistry. He proudly served his country in the Army Chemical Core from 1953-1955. Hugh worked at Battelle Columbus as a Senior Research Chemist in the Electro Chemical Engineer Division. He then worked 20 years as a Midwest Distribution Manager of CP Chemicals. Hugh was director of the International Paleo-Chronology Group and an active member of the Kolbe Center for the Study of Creation. The Kolbe Center seeks to educate the public, particularly within the Catholic Church, in the truth of creation as revealed in Sacred Scripture and Sacred Tradition and as confirmed by the findings of modern science. Hugh's Catholic Faith was very important to him and informed his life on every level. He regularly attended Mass at St. Anthony of Padua. Hugh dearly loved his wife of 60 years, Peggy, and their 7 children. He especially enjoyed taking the family on vacations and then putting together photo albums to record the adventures. He enjoyed attending sports and other activities in which his children and then grandchildren were involved. He was passionate about dating fossils and doing research to disprove the Theory of Evolution. Hugh is preceded in death by beloved wife Peggy; dear grandson, Jacob Miller; as well as his parents, Catherine and Hugh Miller; and his aunt, Irene Calopus. He is survived by children, Jeannie (Mark) Watters, Kevin (Vicki) Miller, Lori (Scott) McKenzie, Mary (Brad) Poston, Brian Miller, Matt (Holly) Miller, and Lisa (Ramon) Capetillo; and grandchildren: Sarah, Ellen, and Megan Watters, Tyler and Andrew Miller, Katie McKenzie, Jarrod and Sam Poston, John, Becca, Patrick and Sophia Miller, Madison, Audrey, and Lily Miller, Santiago Capetillo, and faithful friend, Tom Ryan. The family wishes to express heartfelt gratitude to dad's pastor Fr. Thielan; as well as Fr. Antonio Carvalho and Fr. Silvey, for their ministering to dad and our family.
