It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Louise (Di Paolo) Keefe-Meder. Mommy, Mom, WooWoo, Weezie, Lou, Aunt Lou, Louise, Queenie, Ammy. Whatever you called her, she was unforgettable and loved by all. Her most magnificent gift was her ability to love everyone so freely. Although she experienced countless heartaches throughout her life, these events never interfered with how her beautiful smile or comforting hug could make you feel. The resolute pride with which she embraced her Italian heritage was always evident in every aspect of her life, especially her phenomenal cooking ability. Making fabulous dinners on Sundays was the highlight of her busy week and truly brought immense enjoyment to all her family and friends. This tradition was yet another example of how she brought extreme pleasure and satisfaction to everyone she ever knew, an old friend or someone new. Because she also welcomed the Irish traditions, this enabled her to lovingly enjoy and affectionately pass on the St. Clair and Milo history to her other family and friends. Another one of her outstanding characteristics was her sense of style and fashion. She truly loved to shop and it was ALWAYS evident in her clothing and accessories. Queenie was always put together, no matter the event or time of her life.
She was very witty, always quick with a joke as well as a warm smile. Her laugh was infectious and her ability to enjoy the beauty of life was another one of her gifts. She was intelligent, sophisticated, strong, ambitious, and kind. She possessed all of the admirable attributes and qualities one could ever hope for and the humility one could only admire. Besides her family, her work ethic was beyond reproach. As a young girl, she started working for her father at DiPaolo's Market. She then worked at Presuttis and was the exceptional hostess and manager at Jack Bowman's Suburban Steak House. After the loss of Bobby, her salvation was the ability to excel during her professional career through serving others. In addition, her social life included Piave Club, SFI, The Gacs, and most recently, The Golden Girls. Additionally, she was a St. Andrew Parishioner since 1962, and participant in the women's club, choir, and served as the wedding coordinator.
Abbington of Arlington has served as her home for the last five years. "Thank you!" does not even begin to express the gratitude we feel for the Abbington community. They became part of Louise's extended family due to their unsurmountable efforts and unconditional love.
She is preceded in death by her son, Robert M. "Bobby" Keefe II; husband, Robert E. Keefe; parents, Paolo and Enerina (Centofante) DiPaolo, mother and father-in-law Robert M. and Nora (McCarthy) Keefe; second husband John (Jack) Meder; siblings, both Mary (Frank) Casanta, Florence (Pat) Casanta, Nevina DiPaolo, Richard (Josephine) DiPaolo, Esther Gibson, Paula (Roger) White; in-laws Harry Montavon, Kathleen DiPaolo, Timothy Keefe, Mary and Jake Jacobson.
