Charles W. "Chuck" Swartz, age 92, of Upper Arlington, died peacefully Thursday, September 6, 2018. World War II Veteran serving in the European Theater. Attended Virginia Military Institute and The Ohio State University. Well-known in Amateur Baseball and Basketball for 40+ years. Umpired high school baseball and member of C.O.B.A. Refereed high school and college basketball and was a member of the O.H.S.A.A. Refereed in the A.B.L. (professional league) for several years. Retired from Reynolds Metals Co. as Sales Representative and member of C.M.R.A. Member of St. Agatha Catholic Church. Loving husband, father and grandfather. Preceded in death by his childhood sweetheart and wife, Constance M. (Pardi) Swartz; son, Charles W. Swartz III; sisters, Lucille McAllister and Helen Goulding. Survived by his children, Ellen and Thomas Weilbacher, Peggy Swartz, Jeffrey and Sandra Swartz, Stephen Swartz, John and Donna Swartz, Constance Mary Swartz II, Julie and Scott McDonald, Andrew and Margaret Swartz; Grandchildren, Heather Weilbacher, Amy and Paul Norris, Thomas and Karla Weilbacher II, Anne and Terry Harris, Dr. MaryEllen and Jim Luebbers, Dr. Christine Swartz and Robin Popelka, Charles and Katie Swartz IV, Rocky Swartz, Jack and Mallory Swartz, Melissa Swartz, Jeffrey Swartz II, Molly Swartz, John T. and Kristen Swartz II, Matthew Swartz, Father Daniel Swartz, Maria Swartz and 21 great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Paul (Charlene) Pardi, Dr. James Pardi; sister-in-law, Joanne (Wally) Lewis. Many nieces, nephews, and friends.
