Obituary

Rev. Wilfred W. Ahrendt, age 96, passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2018, at Riverside Methodist Hospital. Rev. Ahrendt graduated from Texas Lutheran College and Trinity Lutheran Seminary of Bexley, Ohio, where he was ordained. He was a chaplain with Lutheran Social Services in Maryland and Ohio and was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Bexley. He also served as a chaplain in the U. S. Army, retiring with the rank of lieutenant colonel. He is preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Caroline Ahrendt; son, Karl; brothers, Richard and Leonard; and sister, Geraldine Wood. He is survived his children, Christina (Paul) Woodrow, Theodore (Margaret), David (Beth) and Andrew (Susan); daughter-in-law, Priscilla; 14 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Frances Hawkins, Marilyn Ridley and Carolyn Webb.
