Obituary

Robert T. Walling, age 84, of Clinton Township, Ohio (Columbus), passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2018, at Riverside Methodist Hospital. He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Rhoda (Abner) Walling; wife, Eileen Walling; brothers, Jim, Elmer and Achie Walling; sister, Louise Barnette. He is survived by his son, Kim (Bonnie Wolf) Walling; stepson, David (Linda) Keyes; grandchildren, Jaron and Robbie Walling, Brice, Grant and Sarah Keyes; sister, Ruth Walling; many nieces, nephews, cousins and his church family. Robert served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict (having been honored to fly on the Honor Flight to Washington, D.C., in recent years) and retired from Ross Labs in Columbus. He was an extremely active member of the Meadow Park Church of God, where he traveled on mission trips assisting those less fortunate around the world and was a mentor and teacher for over 35 years with the Boy Scouts of America. He also enjoyed traveling around the world and country whether it was in his RV or on a cruise ship. His family will receive friends on Friday, February 2, 2018, from 4-7 p.m., at the JOHN QUINT TREBONI FUNERAL HOME, 1177 West Fifth Avenue, Columbus. His funeral will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2018, at 1:00 p.m., at the Meadow Park Church of God, 2425 Bethel Road (Columbus), where friends may call one hour prior. Burial, Rockland Cemetery, Belpre, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name preferred to: Meadow Park Church of God, 2425 Bethel Road, Columbus (43220), the Boy Scouts of America, the American Cancer Society, or a favorite charity of one's choice.
