John F. Piacentini, age 93, of St. Louisville, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, November 26, 2017 at the home of his daughter. He was born in Columbus, Ohio, on October 8, 1924 to the late John F. and Camille (Arata) Piacentini, He attended Holy Name Grade School and graduated from Aquinas High School, Class of 1942. He served in the United States Navy during WWII aboard the USS PC 782; following the war, he graduated from the Ohio State University. He loved camping with his family, water skied until he was 88 and enjoyed keeping the family cars running. He is survived by his son, Steve Piacentini; daughter, Marilyn (Roger) Morgan; son, Dr. Mark (Alice) Piacentini; 18 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ophelia; daughter, Jean; brother, Paul Piacentini; and daughter-in-law, Barbara (Porter) Piacentini. Funeral Mass 11:30 a.m., on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at St. John the Baptist Italian Catholic Church, 720 Hamlet Street (Italian Village) Columbus, where his family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m., until time of the Mass. The Very Rev. Fr. Robert Kitsmiller, Presider. Burial to follow, St. Joseph Cemetery, Lockbourne.
