Obituary

Louise Hedman, age 93, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, December 13, 2018, at First Community Village. Louise was born on July 31, 1925, to Antonio Mesi and Rosa Montillione, Italian immigrants from Sicily. Preceded in death by her loving husband Norman and her siblings Sandy, Joe, Mary and Josephine. Louise was a long-time member of Saint Brendan’s Church, a volunteer at Riverside Hospital for many years, retired from Big Bear Stores, a member of Upper Arlington Senior Center and a member of an Italian-American sorority. She was a fantastic cook and was known for outstanding spaghetti and meatballs. Louise was a great instigator of humor and a vibrant human being who always made people laugh. She was a spirited card player (who hated to lose!) and loved to dance as often as possible. Louise was the loving mother of Norman Hedman (Janet) Cheryl Hemsworth (Alan), Karla Hedman Trott and Renee Stabile. She was a cherished Grandmother to Matthew Hedman, Miriam Anglin (Jonathon), Jami Klein (Joey), Mark Hedman (Michelle), Jenny Hemsworth (Raphael), Jonathon Hemsworth (Sarah), Alex Trott (Leah) and Samantha Stabile and a great-grandma to Emma, Shelby, Jackson, Janna, Jonah, Aiden, Wesley, Evan, Morgan and Nellie; her beloved sister Jean Cavener. She is survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews and dear friends. The family will receive friends and family on December 20, 2018 from 4-7 p.m. at the JOHN QUINT TREBONI FUNERAL HOME, 1177 West Fifth Avenue, Columbus, OH 43212 (with a Prayer Vigil Service at 6:45 p.m.). Family and Friends are asked to gather at the Resurrection Cemetery, Chapel Mausoleum for a Graveside ceremony on Friday December 21, at 10:30 a.m., 9571 High St, Lewis Center, OH 43035. A luncheon will immediately follow at COHATCH, The Library, 752 High Street, Worthington, 43085 from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Central Ohio Diabetes Association or American Heart Association.
