Albert William Dandria, age 88, passed away on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Morrison Hospice House in Zanesville. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he was a longtime resident of rural McConnelsville, and worked for the Central Ohio Welding Co. He enjoyed his roundhouse on the river that he built by hand and lived in for more than fifty years; breakfast at McDonald's with his friends, every morning; shopping for treasures at yard sales, flea markets and GoodWill that took a lifetime to collect; the outdoors, and all of God's creatures; the Muskingum and his beloved canoe; lighthouses; White Castle; and most of all, his family. He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Mary Louise; brother, Tony; sisters, Rose and Helen. He is survived by his children, Ditmar (Bobbie) Chavez, Margaret (Jay) Valenzuelo and Terry (Don) Hurlbert; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother, George (Marilyn) Dandria; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral 11:30 a.m., Thursday, September 27, 2018 at the JOHN QUINT TREBONI FUNERAL HOME, 1177 West Fifth Avenue, Columbus, where his family will receive friends Thursday from 10:30 a.m., until time of the service. Burial to follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations preferred to either the American Heart Association or to a charity of one's choice. Condolences to Albert’s children, Terry, Ditmar, and Margareta. May you have happy memories of your father.
Those who knew Albert will remember him as a caring and loving soul. He will be greatly missed.
He was a hardworking man who did so much work for the neighbors and business in McConnelsville, they all called him by his first name.
Rest easy Albert, you were more than any brother could ask for. He is in Heaven, where eternal rest awaits him with Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
