Obituary

Bernadine A. Bauman, age 98, passed away peacefully, December 13, 2020. She was born in Columbus, on February 10, 1922 to the late John C. and Victoria Trapp Bauman. Dear sister of the following deceased: Dorothy, Irwin (Anita) and Sr. Clara O.P. Aunt of nieces and nephews: John (Vera), Joan McLaughlin (John), Margaret, Joseph (Becky) and Michael (Donna). Great Aunt and Great, Great Aunt of many nieces and nephews. Bernadine earned her B.A. degree from the College of St. Mary of the Springs now Ohio Dominican University and a Masters degree in Education from Xavier University. She worked as a secretary for the Caterpillar Company and later as a librarian for the Columbus Public Schools for 25 yrs. A devout Christian, Bernadine was a Lay Dominican and a long standing member of the Catholic Women's Club. She was a philanthropist and enjoyed traveling in pursuit of her passion, genealogy. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday the 18th, at 11:00 a.m. at St Christopher Catholic Church, 1420 Grandview Ave, Columbus, OH 43212, where the family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. (A rosary will be said preceding the Mass). Please meet at the church. A private interment service to follow at St Joseph Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a donation to St. Christopher Church or your favorite charity. Masks are required, please be mindful of social distancing.
