Obituary

On Wednesday, April 22, 2020, Carolyn Ann Panzera, beloved mother, wife, aunt, grandma, sister, and friend passed peacefully at the age of seventy with her husband and children by her side. The day of her passing, Carolyn was able to speak with her dearest family members through video chat, since Covid-19 restrictions prevented them from standing by her side. Carolyn was born on December 9, 1949, in Columbus, Ohio. She received her high school diploma from Bishop Ready High School in 1967. On October 4, 1969, she married Nick Charles Panzera. Carolyn and Nick grew up together and spent every second together, carrying the strongest marriage of fifty years. Carolyn joined Nick in 1969 as they co-owned and operated Panzera's Pizza until 1976. Since 1970, they co-owned local rental property. They raised two beautiful children, Judith and David, and boundlessly loved their five grandchildren, Brandon, Vincent, Jordan, Taylor and Nico. Carolyn had passions for art, reading, planting, and loving her family. She loved the simple things in life and found the most fulfillment in loving those around her. Carolyn is preceded in death by her father, Orestes, and her mother, Alberta. She is survived by her soulmate, Nick, children, Judith (Stephen) Beight and David (Robin) Panzera; sister, Marilouise (Roy) Lemaster; and beloved grandchildren, Brandon, Jordan, Taylor (Beight), Vincent, and Nico (Panzera); sister-in-law, Almerinda Sborgia; brothers-in-law, Paul Panzera and Fred Lombardi; nieces, nephews, and cousins. Carolyn's family would like to grant gratitude to all of the doctors, nurses, respiratory therapists, physical and occupational therapists who cared and comforted her while her family could not be physically present due to Covid-19. She was graciously cared for at Riverside Hospital ICU, Select Specialty Care Hospital, Ohio State ICU Doan Hall and Ohio State Rhoads Hall. Her family is also appreciative for all family and friends who sent prayers for Carolyn. A private funeral liturgy was held for Carolyn with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Lockbourne. Donations in her name preferred to the Arthritis Foundation, 3740 Ridge Mill Dr., Hilliard, OH 43026. Arrangements entrusted with JOHN QUINT TREBONI FUNERAL HOME, 1177 West Fifth Avenue, Columbus. Nick so sorry to hear about Carolyn. She was such a great lady. She was the one I dealt with most of the time when you two were managing my rental homes in Ohio while I was in the Air Force. Sorry i didn't stay in touch more. Any thing I can do please let me know. I am in AZ in the winters and Ohio in the summers. Waiting to see when they will let me come back to Ohio. Maybe by May 15?
