Dora Jane Scarpitti, age 94, passed away on August 13, 2022, at Mother Angeline McCrory Manor. Born November 8, 1927, she was the youngest child of Nicola and Leonora Scarpitti. Her life's work included employment at Amicon Grocery and The United States Bankruptcy Court. Dora was a devoted member of St. Margaret of Cortona Church, serving on many parish projects and committees; she was always a central figure at the annual parish festival. She diligently worked as a volunteer at both St. Raphael's Home for the Aged and Mother Angeline McCrory Manor. An avid Buckeye fan, she attended the OSU/Michigan games well into her 80's with her good friend, Betty Patch. Her traditional Christmas cookies and holiday dinners were greatly enjoyed by family and friends. Throughout her life, her energetic spirit and positive enthusiasm were recognized and appreciated. Dora's unwavering love of family carried many relatives through difficult times. She lived by the motto "La famiglia e' tutto": The family is everything. Dora was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, sisters, and in-laws: Vito (Anna), Romeo (Lorine), Albert (Crescenza), Ugo (Florence), Orlando (Mary Ellen Murphy), Edith (Gus) Amicon, Dena (Vito) Del Ciello and Nellie. Surviving to cherish her memory are many loving nieces and nephews along with innumerable friends whose lives she touched. The family will receive friends Thursday August 18, 4-7 pm at the JOHN QUINT TREBONI FUNERAL HOME 1177 W. FIFTH AVE. Mass of Christian Burial Friday 10:00 am at St. Margaret of Cortona Church 1600 N. Hague Ave. Family and friends are asked to meet at the church for mass.
