Obituary

Eugene Morrison Miller, age 90, passed away on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at First Community Village. Born December 19, 1927 to the late Silas and Bertie (Sutherland) Miller. Preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years, Phyllis (Susi) Miller; son-in-law, Gary Hughes; sisters, Thelma (Glenn) Ullom, Rita (Claude) Counts, Gaynell (Edward) Shipley. Survived by son, Richard (Joanne) Miller; daughter, Diana Miller Hughes; nieces and nephews, Jackie Scott, Patty Eckhart, Paula Gentry, Cathy Parris, GerI Richard and Keith Rossiter. Eugene was a loving father and an avid hunter, he was a great marksman, and a true lover of the outdoors. Eugene was a WWII survivor, and a member of the Don Gentile American Legion Post #532. He retired from Lennox Industries after 40 years of service. Eugene will be greatly missed. His family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 from 4-7 p.m., at the JOHN QUINT TREBONI FUNERAL HOME, 1177 West Fifth Avenue, Columbus. Friends and family are asked to gather at Our Mother of Sorrows Chapel (within the grounds of St. Joseph Cemetery) 6440 S. High St., Lockbourne for a committal service at 11:00 a.m.. Entombment to follow, St. Joseph Cemetery. Condolences may be sent via www.johnquint.com.

We are so sorry for your loss. We always enjoyed sitting with your dad at the Legion and sharing memories of our military service and hunting times. He will be greatly missed. Another American hero has been called to the Great Command.
