Ophelia "Ophie" (Salvatore) Piacentini, age 93, of St. Louisville, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at the home of her daughter. She fought the good fight. She has finished the race. She has kept the faith. She has entered into the joy of the Lord. She was born in Columbus on December 18, 1923, to the late Ettore and Ida (D'Angelo) Salvatore. She attended St. Francis Grade School, was raised in Flytown and graduated from St. Mary High School, Class of 1942. She worked for Tracy Wells and retired from the F. & R. Lazarus at Northland Mall. She is survived by her beloved husband of more than 70 years, John Piacentini; son, Steve Piacentini; daughter, Marilyn (Roger) Morgan; son, Dr. Mark (Alice) Piacentini; grandchildren, Roger, Mario, Capri, Michele, Angie, Joseph, Christopher, Nichole, Benjamin, Antonio, Theresa, Paula, Richard, Angela, Arthur, Quincy, Meredith, Dominic; 18 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Ophelia is also preceded in death by her beloved daugther, Jean; brother, Ettore Salvatore and daughter-in-law, Barbara (Porter) Piacentini. A special thanks to Donna Baker, Becky Bush, Sandy Eastin and Addelina Angus, great neighbors who helped to care for her and allowed her to stay home with John. Thanks also to the Licking County Meals on Wheels. Her family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 from 7-9 p.m., at the JOHN QUINT TREBONI FUNERAL HOME, 1177 West Fifth Avenue, Columbus. A funeral Mass to celebrate the life of Ophelia will be held at 11:00 a.m., at St. John the Baptist Italian Catholic Church, 720 Hamlet Street (Italian Village), Columbus. Rev. Fr. Robert Kitsmiller, Presider. Burial to follow, St. Joseph Cemetery, Lockbourne.
