Obituary

James Francis Mahaney, age 81, passed away on Sunday, November 27, 2016, at Mt.Carmel St. Ann's Hospital, surrounded by his family. James attended Niagra University and was a retired insurance executive having worked for several companies throughout his career. A devoted member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, he was a member of the St. Elizabeth Knights of Columbus Council #11193 and also a Fourth Degree Knight. He served in the U.S. Army in Korea and was a member of the V.F.W. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Juliana (Gonda) Mahaney; his in-laws, Joseph and Mary Marinelli; brothers-in-law, Orlando (Jan) Marinelli, Angelo Marinelli and Thomas Evans. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Dolores "Dee Dee" Mahaney; brother, John C. Mahaney, Jr.; brother-in-law, Anthony (Martha) Marinelli; sisters-in-law, Roseann Evans and Theresa (Ray) Mangini; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. His family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 30, 2016, from 4-7 p.m., at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, 6077 Sharon Woods Blvd., Columbus, (with a Prayer Service at 6:45 p.m.), where his funeral Mass will be on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Fr. Ramon Owera and Rev. Fr. Charles Cotton, Concelebrants. Burial to follow, Resurrection Cemetery, Lewis Center.
