Joan Christine Travis Fabro, born July 24, 1936 in Columbus Ohio, passed into heaven on February 3, 2017...now she truly is ‘fine as wine’. Daughter of Florence Malfe Travis and Jesse Travis, a proud graduate of Sacred Heart School, and an even prouder (retired) employee of Doctors Hospital West, where serving as a Nursing Assistant enabled her to live her passion of caring and advocating for others. Preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Jacinta ‘Cindy’ Legg (her ‘child #3’), grandson, Ronnie Dildine, Barbara King-Fabro, Darin Stone, numerous dear friends, and her beloved dog Theodore. Survived by son Victor ‘Skip’ Fabro of Cincinnati, daughter Judith ‘Misty’ (Roger) Dildine of Alabama, son Danny Fabro and daughter Jackie (Kenn) Mather of Columbus; grandchildren William ‘Billy’ Gregg, Jamie Fabro, Keith Kovalcik Jr., and Jessica Kovalcik, as well as eleven great-grandchildren and extended family Sharon and Harriet. Visitation will be held on MONDAY, February 6, 2017 (TODAY) from 6-8 p.m., at the JOHN QUINT TREBONI, 1177 W. Fifth Ave., Columbus. Funeral Mass 10:00 a.m.,TUESDAY, February 7, 2017 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 893 Hamlet St., Columbus. Burial to follow, St. Joseph Cemetery, Lockbourne. My heart aches for the passing of my good friend. We shared many after work hours together, she loved her work and Drs West, always giving her best to her pts and expected the same from her nurse. The love for her children and her dogs Nicki and Theodore ran deep. She and I had many long talks about her life, love and kids. She was and will always be one of a kind. I will always think of you when I hear Elvis, and Ol Blue Eyes. My deepest condolence to the family. RIP my friend.

I think of her all the time. We went to school to get her. She was my matron of honor in my wedding and I was her maid of honor in her wedding. Went to hi school with her and grade school with Vic. She was my best friend in school. I will miss her even though we haven't seen her for years. God bless u and may and may God keep u in his arms. I will pray for your family in this hour of sorrow. God bless her family.

The move to Mt. Sterling was probably the reason we lost touch but not an excuse. From the early days at Liebert, second shift, I'll not forget how you helped make the night somewhat more entertaining. You took a liking to me not because I knew how to repair electronics but because our personalities complimented one another. I always admired your backstory about raising your kids in a Catholic household, your dog Sherry who wanted to take a bite out of me every time I stopped by to fix your TV, and that white Lincoln Towne Car that had the musical horn you'd key in a tune as you drove through the neighborhood. Those were fun times and I'm thankful I got to know you, Joan.

Time passed and we lost touch.I never forgot about you especially if I'd hear something on the evening news about a happening in Mt. Sterling. It was the first time I'd been there and was impressed with your new digs. Yes, it was a service call to final the repair on your TV but you had a unique way of making it a social call!

I'm sure there are plenty of people you've befriended over the years and they'll not forget you. I wont let your memory be lost because I know I will always treasure your friendship for the span you were with us on Earth.

Rest In Peace.
