Obituary

Jack Conie, age 84, passed away on Monday, January 15, 2018 at home. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Margaret (Williams) Conie; brother, Joseph; and granddaughter, Kristen Elizabeth Conie. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Louise (DeSantis) Conie; sons, Jack and Chris Conie; beloved granddaughters, Caroline and Jacqueline Conte; brother, Richard (Carol) Conie; sisters-in-law, Christel Conie and Giovina Viol; brothers-in-law, Dr. Louis (Rosanna) DeSantis and Anthony Bracaloni; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Jack graduated from Aquinas High School and attended OSU, later serving his country in Korea with the U. S. Army. He was president of Jack Conie and Sons and a past board member of the Upper Arlington Boosters. He was instrumental in the development of Central Ohio's infrastructure. Jack was a past president of the Columbus Italian Festival and a member of the following orgnizations: Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, Guild Athletic Club, Athletic Club of Columbus, Ohio Contractors Association and the Columbus Engineer's Club. His family will receive friends on Sunday, January 21, 2018, from 3-8 p.m., at the JOHN QUINT TREBONI FUNERAL HOME, 1177 West Fifth Avenue (with a GAC Service at 6 p.m., and a Prayer Service at 7:45 p.m.). Funeral Mass 10 a.m., Monday, January 22, 2018 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 1559 Roxbury Road (Marble Cliff), Rev. Msgr. Romano Ciotola, Presider. Entombment to follow, St. Joseph Cemetery, Lockbourne. Donations in Jack's name preferred to the Holy Family Soup Kitchen, 57 S. Grubb St., Columbus (43215). Louise, I am in Florida and just heard of Jack’s passing. I am so sorry for your loss. I regret not being able to attend his funeral. I have many fond memories of Jack and Hank and their long friendship. I have been where you are and if you need to talk to someone, please feel free to call on me.
