Obituary

Virginia A. (Jeany / Giani) Peyton, age 93, was truly blessed and lived a long happy life. She was born to Angelo and Jessie Jeany (Giani) in Columbus, Ohio on August 28, 1923 and departed this life on September 30, 2016. She is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 59 years, William L. Peyton; her first husband, Harold L. Wilcox; sister, Louise Lyons; brothers, Oscar Jeany and Jack Giany; granddaughter, Susan Wilcox. She leaves to cherish her memory one son, Robert L. (Linda) Wilcox of Plain City; one daughter, Mary Jo (Lee) Ames of Westerville; five grandchildren, Robert L. Wilcox, Jr., Michael A. Fasone, Sr., Andrea Wilcox Fouts and Caroline Wilcox; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; other loving relatives and friends. Virginia was employed at Toledo Scale and retired after 11 years of service. In her leisure time, she enjoyed traveling to Italy to visit with her family members. She was also an avid poker player with the same ladies group for over 70 years; she also loved gambling and going to Las Vegas. She was a past member of St. John the Baptist Italian Catholic Church where she always helped with the Italian Festival and also PIME. Later in her life, she attended St. Matthias Catholic Church when she was able. Virginia was a great wife, mother and grandmother and was loved by all. The family would like to give special thanks to Mayfair Village Care Center and their staff; Harbor Light Hospice and Vitas Health Care and their staff. Special thanks also to Monsignor Maloney from St. Andrew Catholic Church. Her family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 4, 2016, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., at the JOHN QUINT TREBONI FUNERAL HOME, 1177 West Fifth Avenue. Funeral Mass 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at St. Matthias Catholic Church, 1582 Ferris Road (at Karl). Rev. Fr. Raymond Larussa, Presider. Entombment to follow, Resurrection Cemetery, Lewis Center. For those who wish, donations in her name are preferred to St. Matthias Church, 1582 Ferris Rd., Columbus (43224).
