Obituary

Alfred D. Cacchione Jr., 75, passed away suddenly, February 19, 2018, because in this world a pure and tender heart is so easily broken. Al is welcomed to his Eternal reward by parents Al Sr. and Josephine Cacchione; sister, Dianne (Cacchione) Geramita and brother-in-law, Jim Geramita. He is survived by Ric and Debbie Cacchione and Joe and Janet Vittorio; along with cousins, Marcia Stern and Fred Cacchione. There will be a short graveside prayer service at St Joseph Catholic Cemetery, 6440 South High Street, Lockbourne, at 11 a.m., Saturday, February 24, 2018. Thanks to Mount Carmel Palliative Care and to Michelle and everyone else at Senior Options, who provided truly warm and caring aid to Al in his final year. In lieu of flowers it would be great if donations were made to Senior Options, 280 East Broad Street, Columbus, 43215. What would really be great is if you went to a Waffle House and raised a cup of coffee in tribute to Al. Arrangements entrusted with JOHN QUINT TREBONI, 1177 West Fifth Avenue, Columbus. Condolences may be sent via www.johnquint.com.

So sorry for the loss of your brother. Your family always called him Son. I forgot he was really named Al. I haven't seen Son for a long time, but he was always the sweetest guy.

Far far away a train
Whistle blows
Wherever you're goin
Wherever you've been
Waving good bye at the end
Of the day
You're up and you're over
And you're far away

Hey cousins, my cousin from Columbus sent me the obit from the paper. So sorry for your loss,I also did not know his name was Al Jr, only knew him as Sonny. His picture brought back so many memories, our fathers were so much alike, shy, quiet, liked to have some drinks, smokers, heart of gold. I can see your mothers face, your old house. And I can also still hear Aunt Ida's laugh. I would love to be in touch with you, please feel free to email me,I am also on facebook. Again, so sorry that we lost a Cacchione, not many more around. Hugs and love to all.
