Obituary

Beverly Sue Volpe was taken from us peacefully at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center on August 13, 2017 at 1:27 a.m. Beverly was born on December 11, 1958 in Lima, OH, to Fred and Jane (Garner) Bice. She is preceded in death by her sister Karen and their mother Jane. Beverly graduated from Lima Central Catholic High in 1977. Whether she was working as a recruiter, in an office, as voice-over talent, or as an assistant teacher at her daughters' school, Beverly spent her career going above and beyond to care for others. Her final job was at Counseling and Consultation Service at the Ohio State University, where she was deeply loved and admired. Beverly loved spending time out on the water or by the beach, going on roadtrips, having girls-night-outs with her friends, and going on adventures with her daughters. Wherever Beverly went, she graced the room with joy, laughter, and unconditional love. She was cherished for her compassion and ability to bring so many people peace and happiness. Beverly's authentic personality and singing and dancing abilities made her the life of any party. Beverly is survived by her father Fred Bice, by her husband Philip of 27 years, and their two children, Gina Marie and Francesca Rose. She is also survived by her two sisters, Kathy (Michael) Ryan of Williamsburg, VA and Janet (Paul) Konicek of Westerville, OH; and her mother-in-law, Josephine Volpe of Columbus. Calling hours will take place at the JOHN QUINT TREBONI FUNERAL, 1177 West Fifth Avenue (Columbus) on Friday, August 18, 2017 from 4-8 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at St. John the Baptist Italian Catholic Church, 720 Hamlet Street (Italian Village) at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, August 19, 2017. Rev. Fr. Robert Kitsmiller, Presider. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff at the OSU Wexner Medical Center MICU for their excellent care of Beverly. We are so sorry for your loss of your wonderful Mom. We shared so many great times together and the memories will last forever. Bev's smile would light up a room and she will be greatly missed. Her love for her girls was endless and she was a wonderful Mom. Remember Gina and Frannie that she is always with you and look for signs as they will be there.
All our love,

Dear Janet, Mr Bice, Cathy, Gina, Frannie and Philip,
I am so sorry you lost Beverly. She and I walked to first grade together with our Moms, and so I got to play in that fun house on McDonald, upstairs in the room with the secret cabinets in the wall! Always so sweet and talked just like her Mom!
Gina, you and I met in Ann Arbor over 6 years ago with your Mom. It was so easy with Bev to pick up where we left off. I know her girls were her pride and joy! I know Janet will guide all of you thru this...it's her specialty. Bev was taken much, much too early for any of us, but especially for all of you. My deepest sympathy.

Gina & Frannie,
I am so sorry for your loss. There is nothing quite like a mother in your life, and when you lose her, it's like a part of you is gone. I hope you find love and support in those around you at this difficult time and in the future. And remember, she's still with you always. In your hearts and the hearts of all those who she touched along the way.
Hugs from your old tech teacher,
Mrs. Murakami

I was shocked to hear the news of Bev's passing. We were classmates at LCC. I will always think of her with that radiant smile. My thoughts and prayers go out to you at this time of sorrow.

Many years ago, Beverly and I met when she lived in Lima, right after we both graduated from high school in 1977. I worked at City Loan and Savings, and there is where I met Kathy "Bice-Ryan. After work, we would go to Fred and Jane's home, and I would get to know all of the wonderful Bice Girls!!
It was a huge heart-break when Karen passed away...then, now to hear about Beverly is just crushing. Beverly was always full of enthusiasm, love and energy. And, now to read her obituary is so sad, but, WOW, so proud of all she has done with her life!! Beverly Sue Bice-Volpe --What an accomplished, successful and beautiful woman!!
