Obituary

Edith Louise Antonelli Lombardi, 90, was born October 19, 1926, in Columbus, Ohio, and died peacefully on Sunday, June 11, 2017, at home in Dublin surrounded by family. She was a devoted wife and a loving mother.She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Anna Antonelli. She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Mondo F. Lombardi, and seven children, Linda (Mike) Norris, Elizabeth Oliva, Robert (Susie) Lombardi, Catherine Yerich, Jane (Tom) Paskell, Patricia (Matt) Cantwell and John Lombardi. She is also survived by her sister, Mary Antonelli, brother-in-law, Anthony Lombardi and 16 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was valedictorian of her 1944 Central High School graduating class. Following graduation, she was employed by Ohio National Bank and later helped her husband establish his CPA practice. During this time, she also enjoyed acting with the Village Little Theater in Grandview. She was a long-time member of St. Agatha Parish in Upper Arlington, actively involved with the Women's Club where she served as Treasurer and was a member of their bowling and golf leagues. She and her husband were founding members of St. Brigid of Kildare Parish in Dublin. Edith enjoyed needlepointing and was a member of the American Needlepoint Guild and the Embroiderer's Guild of America. She shared her passion for needlework with her family and stitched artwork for her church and community. Edith was an avid golfer and played often as a member of The Ladies Golf Association of Brookside Golf and Country Club. She also was a member of Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin. As a part-time resident of Naples, Florida she enjoyed playing at Colliers Reserve Golf Club.Family will receive friends At the JOHN QUINT TREBONI FUNERAL HOME, 1177 WEST FIFTH AVENUE, Wednesday, June 14, 2017 from 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:30 P.M. Funeral Mass 11:00 a.m.,Thursday, June 15, 2017 at St. Brigid of Kildare Catholic Church, 7179 Avery Road, Dublin, Ohio, burial immediately following at St. Joseph Cemetery, 6440 South High Street, Lockbourne, Ohio. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the caring staff of Ohio Health Hospice.
