Christina Rose Macioce, died peacefully with family surrounding her on Monday, November 7, 2016, at Mt. Carmel East Hospital, Columbus, Ohio. She was 91 years young. Christina "Chris" was born on January 8, 1925, to Barbara and Angelo Napolitano. She graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1943 and married her high school sweetheart, Mario, on June 19, 1946. They made their home in Columbus, Ohio. Chris was a proud member of the Guild Athletic Club Ladies Auxiliary (GALA) and the Santa Maria Lodge. Chris believed in the power of family and nothing made her happier than being able to share her famous pot of sauce and meatballs (which were always on the stove just in case someone happened to drop by.) She loved her coffee and a good bowl of butter pecan ice cream, was strong in her faith and still ate "feesh" on Fridays. Chris is preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Angelo and Leo; and her husband, Mario, who died on October 20, 2016. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Mario and Cindi; granddaughters, Maria and Juliana Macioce; sister, Theresa Holtz; special friends, "Weezie" and Joanne and loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Calling hours will be Friday, November 11, 2016, from 5- 7 p.m. at THE JOHN QUINT TREBONI FUNERL HOME, 1177 West Fifth Avenue, Columbus, Ohio, (with a GALA service at 6:30 p.m., followed by a Prayer Service at 6:45 p.m.). Family and friends are asked to gather for a Celebration Mass in honor of Chris's life at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at Our Mother of Sorrows Chapel, (located within the grounds of St Joseph Cemetery), 6440 S. High Street, Lockbourne. Special thanks to the staffs of Mt. Carmel Hospital and Brookdale Chestnut Hill Assisted Living Community. In lieu of flowers, donations preferred to Mt. Carmel Pallative Care Unit c/o the Mt. Carmel Foundation, 6150 E. Broad St., Columbus (43213). Condolences may be sent via www.johnquint.com.
