Obituary
Rita Melaragno, age 83, passed away on Thursday, September 15, 2016, at Riverside Methodist Hospital. Her family was her life. A loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She left this earth as calmly and peacefully as she lived her life. Our hearts are heavy for we have lost the most selfless woman we have ever known. In our eyes no one will ever have half the heart that she had. We are blessed and consoled by the number of people she lives on through. Survived by beloved husband of 61 years, Ernest S. Melaragno, M.D.; children, Dave (Betsy), Dan (Paula), Beth (Tom) Stricker, Jim (Anita), Mark (Andrea), Paul (Julie), Matt (Elizabeth), Andrew (Antonietta); grandchildren, Lauren (Nelson) Taylor, Rita (J.J.) Irish, Salvatore, Danielle, Erin, Luke, Anthony, Marissa, Nick, Erica, Eleanore, Alex, Sarah, Annie, Max, Jacob, Jackie, Giacomo, Louie, Domenic and Analisa Melaragno; Ryan (Morgan), Brad (Randi), Sean and Kyle Stricker; great-grandchildren, Olivia and Gus Taylor; Vincent Irish and Declan Stricker. Brothers and sisters, Mary Buttress, Anne Salemi, Clem (Virginia) Pannella, Bob (Jeanne) Pannella; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Mary Melaragno, George (Esther) Melaragno, Henry (Dorothy) Melaragno, Ange Melaragno; numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by parents, Cuono and Mary Pannella; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Salvatore and Bambina Melaragno; brothers-in-law, Joseph Buttress, Peter Salemi, Pat Melaragno and John (Nedda) Melaragno. Friends may call Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at the JOHN QUINT TREBONI FUNERAL HOME 1177 W. 5th Avenue, from 4-8 P.M. Funeral Mass 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at St. Andrew Catholic Church,1899 McCoy Road. Rev. Msgr. Stephan Moloney, V.G., Presider. Family and Friends are asked to gather at the Church for her funeral Mass. Interment will follow at the St. Joseph Cemetery 6440 South High Street, Lockbourne. We would like to express our sincere gratitude for the loving care given by the staff of the Memory Care Unit at the Forum at Knightsbridge. Mother and I enjoyed talking with you and your family when you visited Rita at the Forum. Rita and you raised a lovely family. I'm sure she will be greatly missed by all of you. I hope you continue to celebrate life and enjoy each other like I'm sure she would want you to do. We'll miss visiting with all of you.

I just learned yesterday that Rita had passed and was unable to attend the calling hours or the Funeral Mass today. However, I did pray for her at our parish Mass this morning and will continue to keep you all in my prayers. I have fond memories of seeing you, Ernie, with Rita at Amici D'Oro meetings at St. John. May God give her the rest with the saints that she deserves and give you and the family peace and hope until you all meet again in heaven!
