Obituary

Vincent A. Susi, age 83, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 23, 2016, at Riverside Methodist Hospital. Vinnie retired from the State of Ohio Department of Transportation; served as the manager of The Fontanelle and worked as a funeral assistant at the John Quint Treboni Funeral Home. He was a member of St. Matthias Parish, the Flytown Club and the GAC. He is preceded in death by his parents, Eddie and Settima Susi; grandson, Camden Susi; in-laws, Andy and Ruth DiPaolo; and sister-in-law, Mary Alice Susi. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Jennie (DiPaolo) Susi; children, Julie (Frank) Daniel, Drew (Cathy) Susi, Vincent John (Amy) Susi, Eddie (Felicia) Susi, Leslie (Buck) Dent and Eric (Michelle) Susi; 18 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; brother, Les Susi; sister-in-law, Marianne (Char Crace) Oliver; niece and nephew. Family will receive friends on Sunday, August 28, 2016, from 2-6 p.m., at the JOHN QUINT TREBONI FUNERAL HOME, 1177 West Fifth Avenue (with GAC and Flytown Services at 5:30 p.m.). Family and friends are asked to gather for his funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m., on Monday, August 29, 2016, at Our Mother of Sorrows Chapel, 6440 S. High Street, Lockbourne (within the grounds of St. Joseph Cemetery). Rev. Fr. Vincent Nguyen, Presider. Burial to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations preferred to St. Matthias Parish, 1582 Ferris Rd., Columbus, OH (43224). Condolences may be sent via www.johnquint.com.

Dear Susi Family,
"Vinnie "was a wonderful guy. We would go to the Fontanelle almost every Friday night, have dinner and visit with him and the staff. We loved the restaurant and we loved Vince. He made going out to dinner a pleasure. We missed him when the restaurant closed; however, we were able to connect with him a few times while he was working for the funeral home. We lost touch several years ago. We are saddened that he was taken from you suddenly. We send our deepest sympathy. Karen and Bobbe

He had a great personality and sense of humor, and I have fond memories of your family, and Vinnie when I would go to the Fontanelle for dinner with my Mother and Ruth & Andy DiPaolo. Vinnie would always visit us at the table, and introduced me to the best "grasshopper" in town. He was a fun-loving person and will be missed. The loss of a Loved one is difficult, but God's love will give you strength. We will keep him in our thoughts and prayers. I am also going to schedule a Mass at St. John's Catholic Church in Logan, Oh where I now reside. I would also like to inform your family on when it will be scheduled.
