James Benedict Genesky, Sr., age 72, passed away on Monday, February 6, 2017, at Dublin Methodist Hospital. Born, July 8, 1944 in Batavia, NY, he retired from the U.S. Marines in 1994 after 32 years, retiring with the rank of Sergeant Major. He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Florence (Dudwick) Genesky; daughter, Anne Marie Genesky Fryer; and brother, William Genesky. He is survived by his wife Linda (Bukky) Genesky of Dublin; son, James Jr. of Columbus; grandchildren, Bryann and Ayla of Bethlehem, PA; brother, David Genesky of Rochester, NY; uncles, Leonard Genesky of Webster, NY and Robert Genesky of Oakfield, NY; stepchildren, Rebecca Bukky Havens and Stephen Bukky; grandchildren, Marisa Mae Bukky, Max and Archer Havens and numerous cousins. Graveside service 11:00 a.m., with Military Honors, Friday, February 17, 2017, at Franklin Hills Memory Gardens, 5802 Elder Rd., Canal Winchester. Reception to follow at the American Legion Southway Post #144, 3253 S. High St., Columbus.
